Oops, I did it again.... but...

Oops, I started a new cross-stitch project again. A long time ago I fell in love with the Nature's Home Afghan Birdhouses and last week I started stitching....  It really is a stitch-a-long and the fabric is really big and heavy.
I started like I almost start every project: in the right under corner. I have done a little piece of the green and almost can start on the rabbit

But... while stitching the new big one, I must stitch minimal half time on a smaller ufo. I choose one of the 3 dandelion mice from Margaret Sherry.
So I do...

The last 2 weeks I haven't done much crochet or stitching. The first week my oldest son had a holiday, the second week the youngest. We've cleaned their rooms, changing some furniture from this corner to the other, thrown lots and lots of old stuff away. With each a day out buying new cloths, lovely quality time

So now they're back to school again, it's stitching-time  :-)

Thank you for reading and maybe leaving a  comment,  love to read them
Hopefully 'till next time,

Petra

Lovely week

I gave myself a little felt-present last week. I bought 2 beautiful purple and a purple-pink sheets of felt. And I already knew what I wanted to make of the purple-pink one... an owl... and I had an non-wearn awful fitted jeans which was perfect for this project... a cover for my cell-phone

It still isn't finished, but I wanted to share...

Also the last great tit and blue tit are ready to be sewed

And the circle gardigan is some rounds bigger, but still in progress

Is this familiar to you: already enough ufo's (unfinished objects) and still want to start a new one?
I really love Human's Nature Afghan birdhouses and have to start it!!!  There's only one but... I don't have that/the fabric... The real one is pretty expensive,  also if I want to make it on aïda,  I have to buy. I have aïda,  but not that size... (the pic of the nhm is from a friend)

Sooo, enough work to do and to finish

Happy thursday

Crochet, felt & cross-stitch

When I started this blog I wanted to show my cross-stitch work. Unfortunately there came a period I couldn't express myself in x-stitches and had a long period doing nothing....

I'm ready to blog again. But this time not only about my cross-stitch progress, but about all my hobbies  :-D

A mum of school learned me how to crochet and I love it!! I made cellphone bags,  little flipflop keyholders, ponchos, scarfes and now I'm working on a circlevest from Drops Design (99-3)

Also my dear friend Annette infected me with the felt-virus. I'm making a chain of peanuts, an apple and 3 great tits, I love it

Although I have problems with my short memory I also love to read, most of the time an hour before I go to sleep.
I just read the trilogy from Amanda Stevens. I also love the books of Patricia Cornwell, Cathy Reichs, Karin Slaughter, Henning Mankell.
Now reading Around Midnight from Amanda Stevens.

What other book you think I should read?

I hope you will enjoy reading my blog again

Still cross-stitching

I love working on my Grand Marquoir mystere designed by Isabelle Haccourt-Vautier.

It works destressing stitching with one strand of one color on the needle

Thank you for steppin' by and have a nice day

Here I am again

after such a long time... and I've done a lot:

I made with 2 other mums the decor for the musical of our kids, I made the outline and they helped fill in. The title was: Graduation 8 goes flaming (partying; because they're going to Highschool):

Jasper was playing the teacher of the graduatingclass who are going to have a party in the hall of the school, but there are heared strange noises which have to be searched out. There's also a song about the Nightbeast:
I made the masks of the nightbeast, rat, rabbit, mouse,
It was lots of fun and special helping and making.

We went to the Vendée in France, for a sun-sand-sea vacation. It was lovely there

I love those trees

We went with our tent:

My 3 men are playing table tennis competition, so at the campside should be played also... only the table wasn't really a good one (actually it was a terrible one)...

Yoeri and Jasper were found every day in the swimmingpool (their requirement for the campsite: a swimmingpool and wifi, and both were there)
The roof could be openend, but never was

I also had to make some cross-stitches: (it's not the most beautiful/flattering picture of me)

I bought 2 magazins, one with a little book

the last one with a new project (oh my... when am I gonna make all my whished projects???)

I did some crochet also, I want to make a bag of it:

The bear for Vanessa is almost finished (the last backstitches have to be made), and goes tomorrow with the postman on his way to Belgium.

Everything is washed away, cleaned up and in storage again. The cats and guinee pigs are happy again that we're at home.

The boys have still one and a half week vacation and have to start sept 6th again. Their books are in, they will be covered tomorrow, so almost ready to be used, even as the rest (agenda, writingbooks, case, pens, pensils, etc)

Thank you for steppin by and leave a comment
Have a happy/lovely weekend

crochet & more

One and a half week ago another mum from school wanted to learn me how to crochet. Can I do that? Yes, I can!!! :-) I'm very happy I can, it's so much fun.
my first one, halfway up I did myself, under H. showed me how to crochet

I found this freebie pattern on the web

I tried and tried and tried, but now I can...

my next mob-bag, only in a different color purple

It was a hot week with lots of sun, so I didn't do much stitchery. I always get such sweatty hands. Only a little bit of the cats eye. But now I have to concentrate on the bear, the only thing is that the colors for the backstitches are not right and complete on the countingpaper... I really have to sit down an take a good look at it.

Because it was so hot in the sun and I couldn't stitch, I made some juwelery

My vegetables are growing well
cherrytomatoes

courgette

cucumber

Thank you for steppin' by and leavin' a comment

pics of my veggies and my Mothersday-present

Yesterday I forgot to take a pic of my growing vegetables, so I have them today:

my cucumbers, small and big:

the courgette:

my tomato-flowers:

and my strawberries:

And my Mothersday present: a lovely gardenpicture of lavender:

Because it's raining the picture is not as beautifull as it is hanging there in the sun... But I can see it also from the house, I love lavender.

And again a pic of Dotje (Little Dear), who died last friday:
